Reasons for becoming a consultant aren’t hard to find. In fact, the more most people learn about becoming a consultant, the more reasons they uncover. My #1 reason for becoming a consultant is the opportunity for work/life balance.
In the past, I’ve mentioned that consulting can mean work/life balance for stay/work at home parents, reduced stress for executives, less anxiety for computer professionals, options for stay-at-home moms returning to the workforce, and an opportunity for extended coffee breaks! And my readers have written in with their reasons for becoming a consultant. In most cases, it comes down to work/life balance. I can’t think of a better reason why you’d want to become a consultant.
